Basswood tree in moist soils typically have dense pyramidal canopy when young and turning round when mature. Basswood can toloerant dry soils but tends to have a more sparse canopy. Basswood is a valuable wildlife tree. Basswood is a favorite tree for honeybees and many other pollinator species.
