Description
The Centennial Crabapple is a compact, cold-hardy fruit tree known for its beautiful spring blooms and heavy crops of crisp, sweet-tart fruit. Fragrant white flowers appear in mid-May, followed by large 1¾–2 inch crabapples with a golden-orange color and red blush. The fruit has excellent flavor for fresh eating and can also be used for canning and cider, although it has a relatively short storage life.
With its rounded form and manageable size, Centennial is an excellent choice for small yards, edible landscapes, and home orchards. It is self-pollinating, highly productive, and can also help pollinate other apple varieties.
