Description
Native to Iowa where it was found growing in lowland areas such as stream banks and river banks. This is a male selection of our native cottonwood, so NO cotton or seed. It is a large, fast-growing, deciduous tree. Easily grown in average, medium to wet, well-drained soils in full sun. Prefers consistently moist soils, but tolerates drought. Typically grows along streams and rivers. Although it prefers moist soils it’s adaptable to a wide range of soils due to its penetrating root system.
