Description
Matador™ Maple is a beautiful, adaptable shade tree selected for its superior upright form, symmetrical branching, and exceptional fall color. It turns a deeper red than Autumn Blaze® and develops fall color more consistently than Sienna Glen®, making it an excellent choice when dependable fall color is desired.
Matador™ develops its fall color slightly later than many other maple cultivars and holds its leaves longer into the season, extending its vibrant display. Its upright oval form makes it an excellent choice for lawns, streets, parks, and larger landscape plantings.
Matador™ was discovered in 1997 at Bailey Nurseries by Kevin Johnston and has become a popular choice for its combination of attractive form, adaptability, and reliable fall performance.
