Description
Spring Wonder™ Sargent Cherry is a beautiful ornamental tree with an upright, vase-shaped form and excellent three-season interest. In early May, it produces delicate single pink flowers against polished reddish-brown bark. New growth emerges purplish before maturing to shiny dark green foliage in summer, followed by vibrant yellow, orange, or red fall color.
This attractive tree originated from seed collected in Hokkaido, Japan, and was introduced by Bailey Nurseries for Normandale Community College. With its elegant shape and seasonal color, it makes an excellent specimen or accent tree for lawns, entrances, and landscapes.
