The Red Oak is a native large tree with dense foliage making it a great shade tree. Red oak has a beautiful brilliant red color in the fall. In Iowa the Red Oak can be found grow in the upland woods. Good food source for blue jays, wild turkey, squirrels, deer, raccoons, & black bear. Valuable lumber tree.
